Week twelve

Today Clark had his first play date with a boy from childcare. And I was so proud of my boy for climbing (assisted) up on the big climbing frame. This is the only photo I grabbed and I love the light and the colours. And my boy's perfect nose.

However because I am tired and my decisiveness has left me, I will post another. As I love this grubby faced boy who moments before and after this photo was laughing.

Week eleven

Happy Canberra Day! Ok, so this post is late late. However I have a Gold Coast holiday to blame for it!

Before we went away however, on actual Canberra Day (not the birthday weekend) we planted the centenary plant. Canberra Bells. It was late in the day, when we had gotten home from work, so the light is a bit rubbish. But Clark adored trudging around in his gumboots helping his Daddy do some gardening! It is hard for me to not post a lot of photos showing the plant, the progress etc! However I went for a photo of Clark with his beloved shovel.

I am going to be sneaky this week, and also post another photo. The reason behind our Gold Coast holiday was the wedding of my cousin Christine to her now husband Craig. All of the family made the pilgrimage, and Clark was able to spend a lot of time with his cousin, "my Chelsea". So I thought I would get a sneak photo in of the two of them.

Week ten

Happy centenary Canberra! We were up at the crack of dawn today (well before dawn really) to take Clark to his first balloon festival. While it was a bit lacking in the actual balloon launching, Clark did manage to see a few big balloons... including a huge turtle. He was rather unsure of it, and while normally wants to break free from the pram at any given moment, wanted to stay in the safety of the pram. He looked to us for reassurance

I took hundreds of photos this week and spent a lot of time playing with manual and auto focus. The light this morning wasn't great and in the end I chose a photo that used auto focus. I am finding that the pursuit of manual focusing has me behind the camera more and not as much in the moment. So sometimes I relent.

I have a bunch of photos I want to show this week but am determined to just post one portrait. I may do another blog post later in the week with more pictures though! We had a fabulously busy week of craft and park visits and then as much Canberra-ness as we could cram into this long centenary Canberra Day weekend

Week nine

I received this serious look a lot this weekend. And as I do not capture it often, thought I would share! I think my beautiful boy was a bit over the rain and being cooped up indoors. We broke free this afternoon and headed down to our favourite local gardens at Lanyon Homestead for a wander, a picnic and a milkshake. It did us all the world of good!

As a side note, I am struggling with manual focus this week! So difficult to see the focus when outdoors through such a tiny little window!
